Maya Research Pvt. Ltd. ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") (Church Street, MG Road, Unit 402, Bengaluru 560001, Karnataka, India) operates mayaresaerch.com and provides the Maya Research streaming text-to-speech API for Indian and Arabic languages. This Privacy Policy explains how the Company collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information in connection with its website and API services. Contact us at [email protected].
1. Who We Are
The Company builds and operates a multilingual TTS API covering 12 Indian and Arabic languages. Our customers are software developers, product engineers, and businesses that integrate our API to produce speech in applications such as IVR systems, edtech platforms, and voice assistants. The services we operate include: the mayaresaerch.com website; the API endpoint infrastructure; the developer account portal (registration, billing, usage dashboard); and the Maya Lab technical blog.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways: directly from you when you interact with our services, and automatically through standard web and API logging.
Information you submit directly:
- Account registration data: name, work email address, and use-case description provided when you create a developer account.
- Contact form submissions: name, email, and message text sent via the contact page.
- Payment information: billing details processed through our payment provider; the Company does not store full card numbers.
- API key credentials: we store the hashed form of API keys issued to your account.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage logs: timestamps, API endpoint called, language parameter, character count, response latency, and HTTP status codes for each API request made under your account. These logs are used for billing, quota enforcement, and service reliability.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URL collected when you visit mayaresaerch.com.
- Cookie and local-storage data: see our Cookie Policy for details.
Text input submitted to the API: When your application calls the Maya Research TTS API, it transmits text strings to be synthesised into audio. This text is processed transiently to generate the requested audio output and is not stored beyond the duration needed to complete the synthesis request, unless you have opted into a stored-history feature. The Company does not use customer-submitted text to train or fine-tune speech models without your explicit written consent.
3. How We Use Information
The Company uses the information it collects to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the TTS API and developer portal.
- Provision and manage your developer account and API key.
- Calculate usage-based billing and enforce plan quotas.
- Respond to support enquiries and contact form messages.
- Send transactional communications (account confirmations, invoices, API deprecation notices).
- Monitor and improve API reliability, latency, and language-model quality using aggregated, anonymised usage metrics.
- Meet legal obligations, including responding to lawful requests from Indian authorities.
We do not sell personal information to third parties. We do not use personal information for behavioural advertising.
4. Sharing
The Company shares personal information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: cloud infrastructure, payment processors, and analytics providers acting under written data processing agreements that restrict their use of your data to providing services on our behalf.
- Legal compliance: disclosure to Indian government authorities, courts, or regulators where required by applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules thereunder.
- Business transfer: if the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to continued protection under this Policy or a successor policy.
We do not share API text content submitted by your application with any third party except as required to deliver the synthesis result.
5. Retention and Security
We retain account registration data for as long as your developer account remains active and for a reasonable period thereafter to allow for dispute resolution and legal compliance. API request logs are retained for up to 90 days in hot storage for debugging and billing verification, and may be retained in aggregated anonymised form for longer periods for capacity planning.
The Company applies administrative, technical, and physical safeguards commensurate with the sensitivity of the data held, including TLS in transit, access controls, and encrypted storage for credentials. No internet transmission is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
6. Your Rights
Subject to applicable Indian law (including the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 and any successor legislation), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. Where you have a developer account, you may review and update account information directly in the API portal.
7. Cookies
See our Cookie Policy for a full description of the cookies and similar technologies used on mayaresaerch.com.
8. Children
The Maya Research API and developer portal are not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
9. Changes and Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above, and where appropriate we will notify registered account holders by email.
